Spring has sprung – the groundhog was right!

Welcome to the lovely colors of my spring blooms!  I’ve always hated gardening – or so I thought.  It turns out that what I actually hate is yard work, gardening is kinda cool.  I didn’t realize until I moved to California just how much I loved flowers and color. I have flowers EVERYWHERE now – even fake ones because they make me happy.  I know, how ‘girlie’ of me.  Who knew?  But don’t worry, I still love horror movies, hard rock and cussing – just let me have my fucking vase of lavender, K?

Last year was tomatoes, peppers and herbs – this year my spring is all about jasmine, lavender, roses, plumeria, strawberries and succulents!  Dale got me an agave plant for Christmas (because I killed my little palm tree – oops) and now I have gone succulent crazy.  I even have ALOE – which my mom used to pronounce as A-LOW.  Think J-LO and you have it.  So ‘aloe’ will forever be ‘A-low’ now.  It is important you know these things.

I don’t know what all of these plants are called – but they are lovely nonetheless, and my yard is looking so vibrant and alive right now despite the drought.  Speaking of the drought, I hate people – especially most of the ones in my neighborhood.  (I know that sentence made no sense, but stay with me.)  I only have my sprinklers turn on for 3 minutes at a time, 2 times a week (what’s the point, right?) – BUT, I have 3 stations of sprinklers, so it APPEARS as though I have the sprinklers come on 3 separate times in the same day, but really it is just watering different areas that happen to be side-by-side.  SO, my nosy little bastard neighbors (I don’t know which ones, but I have my suspicions) left me notes on two different occasions chastising my ‘waste of water’.  They wrote Don’t you know we are in a serious drought?  As I’m reading the second note in 2 weeks from the same fucker, I’m thinking Really, asshole? I wasn’t aware!  It isn’t on the news every night, or on every billboard for 200 miles or anything…GEE-ZUS people are annoying!

Anyway, I thought you might enjoy a little photo gallery of my garden:

Hi, I’m Cheryl, a.k.a. "CrazyDogMama". Welcome to my blog - it's about time you visited! Anything and everything goes here - seriously. I'm a 40-something introverted writer and maker of body care products.

I am obsessed with books (mainly the Holy Bible of late), writing, essential oils, intermittent fasting, road trips, subscription boxes, and all geeky things related to earthquakes, space weather and the last days written about in Revelation. I exist mainly on coffee. I'm not above writing about uncomfortable subjects, and political correctness isn't my priority, I'm just real. I also love Jesus. So, if you're good with all that, take a look around and get to know me! Even if you're not, I try my best to entertain and offer up good advice occasionally, so hopefully there is a little something here for everyone.

Oh, and my dog Jack is my muse, so I like to exploit him here. ;-)

This is my life.
