I am utterly (and unapologetically) addicted to bling. I’m the person you see in their pajamas, hair a mess, and totally decked-out in jewelry while I hang out on the couch all day. My Meraki Box fuels my addiction! It’s time to review my favorite jewelry designer of all time, so let’s talk about their January 2019 collection! Their jewelry is not only unique and trendy, but it is also really high QUALITY. There is a tremendous amount of attention to detail using quality materials, and their passion shows. If you have read any of my other reviews, you know quality is very important to me – especially when it comes to jewelry. I have recently developed an obsession with semi-precious stones, and My Meraki Box is the absolute perfect match for me.
Wristicuffs started as a small, homegrown company and is now an accomplished indie jewelry design company offering several lines of accessories based in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada – and their designs have been featured on display and in the gift bags at the 2014 Golden Globe and Emmy’s GBK Celebrity Gift Lounges! They have photos of several celebrities wearing their jewelry, which is fun to see. They became so popular that they decided to offer a monthly jewelry box, so My Meraki Box was born as a way to offer fans new exclusive designs for a greater value.
Here are the subscription deets:
Each month, My Meraki Box will feature new exclusive designs, only available to My Meraki Box subscribers. To ensure you receive jewelry pieces that you will love for years to come, you will be able to log in and select your preference of either leather, gemstone or metal color options. They offer month-to-month, 3-month and 6-month subscriptions starting at $59.99; with a lower cost per box for longer subscription commitments. Upon subscribing, you are asked to fill out a short form that asks you what your favorite colors are, as well as your not-so-favorite colors, and how you would describe your personal style. I described my style as ‘Edgy Boho’ leaning toward the darker hues of blues, greens, browns, black & grey. I tell you this because each box is designed specifically with your tastes in mind, so you will see my boxes tailored to my style. Your box may look completely different!

My Meraki Box Review, January 2019
My favorite little black box!
Meraki (v): to do something with soul, creativity, or love; when you leave a piece of yourself in your work.
The January 2019 theme is “The Meditation Collection” – how fun is that?!?
This box came at the perfect time for me, as I am starting a yoga class in February! I am going to learn how to meditate. My mind ping-pongs all day long, which creates anxiety, so anything that may help me calm the F down is welcomed.
This collection’s goal is to help create “Positivity, Love, Light and Empowerment”. Yep, I need those.
Each month, subscribers are given a choice of material or color for one of the custom jewelry pieces in the upcoming box. This month was especially hard for me because I have other pieces that each of these choices would compliment beautifully.
Choice #1 – Wooden Agate
Choice #2 – White Turquoise
Choice #3 – Brecciated Jasper
Which would you choose?!?
All the pretty little packages inside the box; each are like opening a separate gift.
Fully unboxed, we have a beaded bracelet and THREE necklaces – woohoo!
“CARDAMINE” Beaded Bracelet (Note: This is an exclusive piece and is not offered on the Wristicuffs website, so I am unsure of the value.)
If you missed this box, you can find similar pieces in the Wristicuffs shop here and here.
The ‘Cardamine’ was created using my color choice; which was the brecciated jasper. This beaded stretch bracelet also features a SOLID sterling silver Om charm bead. Per the information card included, the ‘Om’ is considered the whole universe coalesced into a single word, representing the union of mind, body and spirit. The Om is commonly used in meditation and yoga practices; often chanted three times at the start and at the finish of a session. The sound of OM is actually pronounced with three syllables: a, u, and m.
In short, I *adore* this bracelet! The brecciated jasper is gorgeous with it’s deep, dark reds, and the charm bead is a really nice accent. It looks great all by itself, but I think I am going to stack it with a few of the other bracelets I’ve received from My Meraki Box this past year!
I am just never disappointed in my choices, although I don’t think you could go wrong with any of their choices. As always, it fits perfectly thanks to the profile you get to set up when you subscribe. There is nothing better than getting your jewelry customized!
“LHASA” Necklace & “BAYI” Necklace (Note: These are exclusive pieces and are not offered on the Wristicuffs website, so I am unsure of the values.)
If you missed this box, you can find similar pieces in the Wristicuffs shop here , here and here.
Meant to be layered together, both necklaces are sterling silver, and the chain lengths are 18″ and 22″ respectively. Each one is a little different:
-The “Lhasa” has a sterling silver blooming lotus flower pendant on an 18″ sterling silver Italian curb chain. Blooming lotus flowers are considered to represent enlightenment. Poets have used lotus flowers to inspire strength in adversity and seeking beauty, and of course there is a ‘lotus pose’ in yoga. You can read more about the lotus here.
-The “Bayi” has a sterling silver ‘Hand of Fatima’ pendant on a 22″ sterling silver Italian wheat chain. Believed to channel the forces of good, the ‘Hand of Fatima’ (also known as the ‘Hamsa Hand’) has long been used to symbolize the strength of women. Recognized worldwide, it is said to bring the owner happiness, luck, health and good fortune. You can read more about the Hand of Fatima here.
You could of course wear these necklaces separately, but together they are so much better! The different textured chains make this layered-look very unique and trendy, and I’m digging it! I’m feeling more spiritual already. 😉
Sterling Silver Meditation Spinner Necklace (Note: This is an exclusive piece and is not offered on the Wristicuffs website, so I am unsure of the value.)
BONUS ITEM! Each month, My Meraki Box sends a ‘Thank You’ gift along with your customized jewelry, and sometimes we get lucky and that gift is an extra jewelry item. This is one of those months!
It is sterling silver on a 20″ Italian ball chain (with extender), and there is a flower/leaf detail on the base, with one brass ring and one silver ring that ‘spins’ around the base. Spinning the silver and brass rings is believed to have a calming effect on the wearer’s mind & body. So cool & different!
I found a really pretty spinner ring for my hand (that I’m thinking of getting) to match this necklace, here.
I don’t have anything like this in my collection, so I was thrilled!
It’s dainty and petite on me, and I love the brass & silver together.
You can even layer the spinner necklace in between the other two if you like; the lengths work out perfectly – and it gives you a bit of mixed metal detail, too.
Here are the pendants up close together against my hand for scale.
So there you have ‘The Meditation Collection’. I love the diversity of My Meraki Box; each month is such a wonderful surprise mix of jewelry I didn’t know I needed!
January’s My Meraki Box came with 3 pieces of custom handmade jewelry (plus a bonus necklace!) for $59.99, so each exclusive item is an average of $20, or $15 each if you factor in the bonus. If you look on the Wristicuffs website, you’ll find that most of their pieces are $39.99 to $79.99 (and up), so I believe you can safely bet your box is beyond their promised value of $100. Trust me when I tell you this box is WORTH IT!
