This month I received the “Big Bonus Box”!

This is the ‘monthly’ Essential Oil Recipe Box that comes inside of the Big Bonus Box when you get it.
The oils are packed really nicely in sturdy cardboard pockets to decrease the chances of spillage or breakage.
Each monthly box comes with 4 essential oils + 6 recipe cards, and additional items to complete the recipes. Quite impressive for the low cost of the box! Simply Earth is able to cut out the middle-man and work directly with the farmers to give you a more affordable value. This month is themed the “Peace & Quiet Box” or “Stress (Bath) Box”.
On the backs of the recipe cards are notes and additional information about the box. This is a note from Katie – a recipe formulator and certified aromatherapist. This month she talks about the theme of the box, and how stress can sneak up on us. This ‘Peace & Quiet’ or ‘Stress (Bath)’ box is designed to guide you on your journey to better rest & relaxation.

Each month there is a recipe for a roll-on, and this month’s roll-on is for maximum rest & relaxation! Roll-on bottle blends are great for keeping in my purse or car. This recipe requires items from the bonus box – fractionated coconut oil and a glass roller.
This blend truly does make me feel very peaceful; giving off a sweet, yet ‘earthy’ vibe. I decided to use this roller while relaxing in my hammock listening to this song. (“Time” by Hans Zimmer) It was AWESOME! I fell asleep…
These glass rollers come with steel roller balls – which are much better than the plastic ones you sometimes see. To use, roll onto the pulse points (wrists, neck, back of knees), but make sure to test on the back on the hand first.

Diffuser blend recipes are included every month, and if you are a fan, the recipe includes a master blend you can make to have on hand. The recipe card gives you the ingredient amounts you need to put directly into you diffuser, as well as for a master blend. The bonus box includes (6) 5 ml bottles so that you can make master blends each month if you choose.
What a great blend this is! Sage just goes PERFECT with Lavender and Peppermint.

Simply Earth Purple Striped Bath Salts Recipe Card
Recipe Project: Purple Striped Bath Salts
This recipe calls for the fractionated coconut oil from the bonus box, and Epsom salts from your personal stash. It is not in the photo above, but I decided to use a Mason jar to house my bath salts.
The mixing was super easy, and all you have to do is layer the salts into a container, and they’re ready to go!
Beautiful! This is going to make a FABULOUS gift for someone special in my life! I am going to make some more for myself, too…
Simply Earth Fizzy Purple Bath Scoop Recipe Card (Front & Back)
This recipe requires both the solid and fractionated coconut oils from the bonus box, and baking soda and corn starch from your personal kitchen.
Recipe Project: Fizzy Purple Bath Scoop
I used a double boiler to melt the coconut oils together (pictured). Double boilers are cheap and I highly recommend getting one for making balms, salves and lotions.
This is the dry mix, and once the coconuts oils are melted, all you do is add them and stir.
My mix seemed a little ‘wet’, so I’m not sure if my measurements were off, or if it was meant to be like this, but it turned out OK in the end.
My bath scoops were more like bath cookies, but OH WELL! LOL!
Once fully cooled (24-48 hours), I wrapped them in plastic wrap and used the label. These smell lovely and I can’t wait to use them!
Simply Earth Toilet Cleaning Bombs Recipe Card (Front & Back)
Recipe Project: Toilet Cleaning Bombs
This recipe calls for Castile soap (or dish soap), baking soda and an ice tray (or other mold) from your personal stash.
My bombs are a little lumpy, but it’s all good – hahahaha!
OK, so I didn’t have the best of luck getting these out of the ice tray intact, so I just rolled them into balls and then wrapped them in plastic wrap. I think they’ll work just fine. My toilet will smell all peppermint-y!
So what do you think of the August 2021 Simply Earth Essential Oils Recipe Box? My favorite project this month was the Purple Striped Bath Salts! They are SO PRETTY, and perfect for gifting; not to mention they make a luxurious bath experience. I look forward to my box each month, and I am consistently impressed by the quality and usability of this subscription at such a reasonable price. I was not able to come up with a total retail value this month because some of the items are not yet available in their store, but just the oils ALONE came to $52.96 – which exceeds the cost of the box for $39.99! Also, don’t forget the FREE Bonus Box items that have a total value of $44.84! All of this is a HUGE value comparatively to other essential oils out there of equal quality, and it is so handy to be able to make so many different recipes without having to buy a bunch of additional expensive ingredients.
This subscription is a great way to learn and build up an essential oil collection that isn’t so overwhelming, and the recipes are so easy & fun! IMHO you absolutely can’t go wrong if you enjoy essential oils and DIY projects.
