I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for Spring! I love plants, blooms and new growth, and I have a special ‘botanical’ review for you today from Bespoke Post – a luxury subscription box geared towards men that I just love (as a woman)! I find that I am quite drawn to many men’s items these days, however most of Bespoke Post box offerings are unisex. Bespoke Post offers a variety of different themed boxes each month to choose from that include high quality items such as culinary/kitchen tools, outdoor gear, clothing, grooming products, home decor and more. The best part is, you get to choose exactly what you want, and can skip any month that doesn’t interest you! There is absolutely zero risk, and each box is a decent value over retail pricing. I’m all about quality over quantity, and this box is perfect for that. Today I’m going to review the “Rooted” box. Right now this particular box is sold out, BUT, keep checking back because they bring back boxes from the archives all the time!
Here’s how it works:
Monthly subscription boxes are $45 (+tax and $3.95 shipping), and each month on the 1st, you will receive an email with a box chosen for you based on your profile, including all the details of the contents therein. You have 5 days from that point to change colors, sizes, or choose a different box altogether! You can also add items to your shipment from their shop at no additional shipping cost. Boxes then ship out around mid-month. If none of the boxes offered excite you, you can choose to skip that month – no questions asked. The process will start over the next month with new offerings.
NOTE: You don’t have to be a subscriber to get a box! You can purchase Bespoke Post boxes for $55 (+tax/shipping) as a non-subscriber, and $45 (+tax/shipping) as a member. The Bespoke Post shop is open to everyone as well, but members get special pricing and sales on certain items.
Here are the CURRENT selection of boxes. Keep in mind the variety changes frequently!
In addition to the regular monthly club subscription, they are also now offering what are called “Provisions Subscriptions“, that are monthly boxes for wine, soap or coffee, specifically.
To receive a one-time $20 credit that will be applied to your first paid Club Shipment of $45 or more, join using this link! The credit will appear in your cart when you checkout.
I am not a Bespoke Post affiliate, but I do use their referral program which is available to all members. I pay for my subscription, but there may be other affiliate links within this post. You can read my full disclosure statement here. Please note however, that I *never* accept compensation in exchange for a positive review. All of my reviews are my honest, personal opinions and contain my own photography (unless otherwise stated).
Bespoke Post “Rooted” Box Review
You must make your box selection (or choose to skip) by the 5th of the month, then you are generally charged for the box right before it ships out – which is usually around mid-month unless otherwise noted. I have never once had an issue with billing or shipping since I started getting Bespoke Post way back in 2017! This particular box contains product received from the ‘Water & Light‘ company, that also has it’s own shipping policy to ensure healthy plant delivery:
Shipping & Returns Policy from Water & Light
For an overview on how we ship plants to you, see our guide here. All items are shipped from Florida on Mondays or Tuesdays to allow for maximum continuous transit time while avoiding time spent sitting in warehouses, trucks, or other distribution points over the weekend. Depending on your location and the weather conditions across the country, we may be forced to hold on shipping until conditions improve as we have had items freeze while sitting in Chicago for four days and get delayed due to heavy holiday volume (Mother’s Day, Christmas, etc.). We will make every attempt to ship your item promptly on the very next Monday or Tuesday given that there are no anomalies in shipping conditions.
Items received in a damaged condition will be refunded immediately as we investigate the cause of the issue with the shipper. Returns will not be accepted, please dispose of any unusable items after they have been refunded.
Members had their choice of (3) different plants, the ZZ Plant, the Dracaena Colorama Plant, or the Yucca Tip Plant. I thought the Yucca Tip was the most interesting of the three, and decided I needed it on my kitchen counter that overlooks my backyard!
Yucca Tip Plant + Vessel – Retail Value $55
The ‘Rooted’ box comes with an informational card that describes the product, it’s recommended care and why it was chosen. Whichever plant you choose, it is grown by professionals and beautifully planted in an unglazed ceramic planter that is not only beautiful & minimalistic, but also sturdy & functional. The plants available to choose from are all low maintenance and non-fussy, so I was all over it! I generally kill plants (unintentionally), so I tend to shy away from buying them. So far, I’ve kept this one alive. Fingers crossed! Oh, and don’t forget to name your plants! I call my Yucca ‘Hester’. 🙂
On the back of the card is the water/light/fertilizing schedule for each plant.
Yucca Tip Plant Care
Native to some of the most arid parts of the Carribean, the Yucca Cane lends a touch of a tropical vibe to your space. This one’s got a central trunk — making it more like a mini tree — with a head of jagged green leaves protruding from the very top. It prefers lots of indirect sunlight (even a little direct sun won’t hurt) and a drink of water only once a week or so.
- Water: every 7-10 days
- Light: high indirect light, can tolerate partial sun
- Toxic to pets: yes
More details about ongoing care for my Yucca Tip plant were on the Water & Light website as well:
Care & Maintenance Details:
Planted in 6″ unglazed ceramic planter with no drainage holes.
Recommend transplanting within 2-3 years into a vessel 1-2 inches larger using regular potting mix.
Clean leaves with damp paper towel every 1-2 weeks to aid photosynthesis and stimulate growth. Check leaves and stalks for pests while cleaning. For more information on the importance of cleaning leaves, read our guide here.
If pests are found, remove with damp paper towel and use a mild organic pesticide in a spray bottle to coat the affected areas. More information on common pest problems can be found here.
Toxic to pets, contact your veterinarian in the event that sap, leaves, or any part of plant is ingested.
Water thoroughly once every 10-14 days. We recommend adding clay drainage balls to the bottom of the pot, however avoid overwatering. You can read some fundamental rules of watering here.
High indirect light, avoid window sills as they amplify the sun’s intensity and create heat that may damage plant. You can find our plant placement guidelines here.
Hester seems to be very happy with us!
So what do you think of the Bespoke Post “Rooted” box?!? I am absolutely in love with my unique & mysterious-looking Yucca! The Bespoke Post Box has made my top 10 in subscription boxes because I love having a choice of (quality) items, the option to skip (easily), and of course the value! The total retail value of this box is $55, and the subscription cost was $45, so the value wasn’t as big as most months, but I didn’t care at all because I would have never found Hester without Bespoke Post!
Don’t Forget! To receive a one-time $20 credit that will be applied to your first paid Club Shipment of $45 or more, join using this link! The credit will appear in your cart when you checkout.
