Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box Review, July 2021
The July 2021 Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box! I want to note that you only get the free ‘Big Bonus Box’ with your first box, and then with every 6th box – which I have to say is a phenomenal perk! The oils are packed really nicely in sturdy cardboard pockets to decrease the chances of spillage or breakage.
Each monthly box comes with 4 essential oils + 6 recipe cards, and additional items to complete the recipes. Quite impressive for the low cost of the box! Simply Earth is able to cut out the middle-man and work directly with the farmers to give you a more affordable value. This month is themed “FAMILY FRIENDLY”.
On the backs of the recipe cards are notes and additional information about the box. This is a note from Katie – a recipe formulator and certified aromatherapist. This month she talks about the theme of the box, and includes blends that are considered safe (and fun!) for the whole family, while creating a calm & peaceful atmosphere.

Since then, grapefruit has been found to have many, many benefits–from clearing skin to rejuvenating dull hair. Grapefruit is also known for its ability to uplift, energize, and support mental focus.

Since Hydrosol is much gentler than essential oil and is water-based, it adds a wide variety of uses. You can use it with children under two, small pets, cats, and it’s also great for adults.
When essential oils are made, some water is left over. That water is filled with the natural benefits of the plant, but at a more diluted ratio than the essential oil. Instead of letting this water go to waste, we bottle it up as Lavender Hydrosol. This water-based product is stronger than a tea, but weaker than an essential oil.

Simply Earth ‘Road Trip’ Roll-On Recipe Card
Recipe Project: Road Trip Roll On
Each month there is a recipe for a roll-on, and this month’s roll-on is for road trips! Roll-on bottle blends are great for keeping in my purse or car. This recipe requires items from the bonus box – fractionated coconut oil and a glass roller.
I had to laugh that the name of this roll-on is ‘Road Trip’, and it has the ‘Homebody’ blend in it – but oh well, it still smells great and gets you ready to ROLL! Ha!
These glass rollers come with steel roller balls – which are much better than the plastic ones you sometimes see. To use, roll onto the pulse points (wrists, neck, back of knees), but make sure to test on the back on the hand first.
Simply Earth ‘Hospitality’ Diffuser Blend Recipe Card
Recipe Project: Hospitality Diffuser (Master) Blend
Diffuser blend recipes are included every month, and if you are a fan, the recipe includes a master blend you can make to have on hand. The recipe card gives you the ingredient amounts you need to put directly into you diffuser, as well as for a master blend. The bonus box includes (6) 5 ml bottles so that you can make master blends each month if you choose.
This diffuser blend is aptly named! It actually smells “homey” and very comforting to me. The Homebody Blend has Vetiver Essential Oil in it, and that is one of my favorite scents. It is a more masculine scent (it is in many men’s colognes), and it blends really well with Cedarwood and Grapefruit Essential Oils, and makes me feel all warm & fuzzy. So there you go!
Simply Earth Lavender Hydrosol ‘Everything Spray’ Instructional Use Card
The Lavender Hydrosol card isn’t officially a ‘recipe’; it instead lists 3 ways to use the ready-t0-go spray. No prep required! I use it mostly for a room spray, but it is also really nice to spritz on your face on a hot day – especially if you put it in the refrigerator for a bit! It is also perfect for road trips to keep your car smelling fresh & clean!
It didn’t really need the label, but I put it on anyway, just for you!
Simply Earth ‘Mama’ Inhaler Recipe Card
Recipe Project: Mama Inhaler
This is an elegant inhaler! It’s super easy to disassemble and reassemble, and all you do is add the essential oils to the cotton roll, and you’re done! It doesn’t get easier than that! You can refresh the cotton as often as needed!
This may sound weird, but I suffer from an inner ear dysfunction, and I occasionally have dizzy spells that make me nauseous. The Spearmint Essential oil in this recipe is great for easing nausea, so this is perfect for me when I have difficulties!
This is MY inhaler, and I am MAMA. It would be even better if it was named “CRAZYDOGMAMA” Inhaler, don’t you think?!? Haha.
Simply Earth ‘Self-Care’ Lotion Recipe Card

Open the Natural Lotion jar, add oils, and TA-DA! DONE!
Fresh, clean & pleasant smelling – and I need all the moisture I can get during the Summer months! I am as dry and crusty as sandpaper, so it’s a must. Since the jar already has a label, I put the pre-made label on the top.
Simply Earth ‘Homebody’ Carpet Powder Recipe Card
Recipe Project: Homebody Carpet Powder
This project requires baking soda from your kitchen, and an 8 oz. jar, preferably with a shaker-type lid with small holes. I only had a 4 oz. jar without a special lid, so I cut the recipe in half, and then just carefully sprinkled it on my carpet. No problem!
I have a dog. I have a very stinky, hairy dog. This carpet powder smells much better than dog hair, and I love it! I also put a bit of it inside my vacuum cleaner bag, and that works great, too!
So what do you think of the July 2021 Simply Earth Essential Oils Recipe Box? My favorite project this month was the Road Trip Roll On! I love the smell of it, and as silly as this sounds, I love the name of it! We take a lot of road trips around here because we really like being able to take our dog with us on vacation, and there is so much of the United States I still haven’t seen. All the projects this month were super easy & fast, and very useful for me – I am almost out of the self-care lotion already! I look forward to my box each month, and I am consistently impressed by the quality and usability of this subscription at such a reasonable price. I was not able to come up with a total retail value this month because most of the items are not yet available in their store, but the boxes consistently range from $60-70 per month, which I think is absolutely amazing for only $39.99! That really is a HUGE value comparatively to other essential oils out there of equal quality, and it is so handy to be able to make so many different recipes without having to buy a bunch of additional expensive ingredients.
This subscription is a great way to learn and build up an essential oil collection that isn’t so overwhelming, and the recipes are so easy & fun! IMHO you absolutely can’t go wrong if you enjoy essential oils and DIY projects.
