The March 2021 REDESIGNED Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box! The oils are packed really nicely in sturdy cardboard pockets to decrease the chances of spillage or breakage.
Each monthly box comes with 4 essential oils + 6 recipe cards, and additional items to complete the recipes. Quite impressive for the low cost of the box! Simply Earth is able to cut out the middle-man and work directly with the farmers to give you a more affordable value. This month is themed “BEAUTY”.
*NOTE: My box came with a sheet of instructions for reviewers, and I didn’t read it right away and accidentally included it in my photo assuming it was for all subscribers. On the backs of the recipe cards are notes and additional information about the box. This is a note from Katie – a recipe formulator and certified aromatherapist. This month she talks about the theme of the box and how most store-bought products contain artificial fragrances and chemicals, and the long term health problems that can occur by using them. This blend helps regain the youthfulness of soft, smooth skin naturally. The Beauty Within Essential Oil blend is a powerful combination of Myrrh, Frankincense, Rosemary & Lavender that will help reduce the effects of time on the skin by combating fine lines and dry, dull skin.

Tea Tree Essential Oil is one the best known and loved oils around the world. It has been affectionately known as “First Aid in a Bottle” as it is amazing for skin care, natural cleaning, and respiratory support. It can also be beneficial for those in need of confidence. This oil has a fresh, slightly medicinal scent with characteristic woody, camphoraceous notes.

Amyris Essential Oil calms, cleans, boosts immunity, supports skin care, and soothes. It has a woody & vanilla-like aroma, and blends well with other oils.

Often used as an adulteration of rose oil because of its similar aroma at a much lower price, Palmarosa offers a variety of benefits for the skin and emotional well being. The label sheets are now pre-cut and you just peel them off – no more cutting them yourself! I can’t tell you how much I APPRECIATE THIS! I had a little castor oil spillage on my labels – oops! – but they were still usable and worked just fine.
Look at how pretty and PERFECTLY ROUND the new peel-able oil labels are! Hooray! You should have seen them when I had to cut them myself – it’s embarrassing – LOL!

This oil creates a thick, shiny protective layer and is useful for sensitive, inflamed, dry and mature skin (ME!). It safely dilutes essential oils and has virtually no scent.

Simply Earth Natural Beauty Diffuser Blend Recipe Card

Diffuser blend recipes are included every month, and if you are a fan, the recipe includes a master blend you can make to have on hand. The recipe card gives you the ingredient amounts you need to put directly into you diffuser, as well as for a master blend. The bonus box includes (6) 5 ml bottles so that you can make master blends each month if you choose.
I really like this blend, but I’m at a loss on how to describe it! It definitely smells clean and fresh, with a slight spicy/woodsy finish. It makes my kitchen smell like I’ve been scrubbing, which of course I haven’t. So, score!
Something to note – Amyris is a VERY thick essential oil! It takes a loooong time for just one drop to come out of the bottle, so have your patience handy!! Just sayin’.
Simply Earth Beautiful Skin Roll On Recipe Card
Recipe Project: Beautiful Skin Roll On
Each month there is a recipe for a roll-on, and this month’s roll-on is for giving your skin some love. It helps with redness, dry skin and acne prone skin, and smells very fresh & clean! Roll-on bottle blends are great for keeping in my purse or car. This recipe requires items from the bonus box – fractionated coconut oil and a glass roller.
I get hormonal acne on my chin, cheeks and forehead, so I dab just a few drops on those areas a few times a day. It feels very invigorating! The key is consistency with this one – problems like this don’t go away overnight; however it is such a great thing to know I am using natural products that won’t harm my skin, while at the same time enjoying the fragrance.
These glass rollers come with steel roller balls – which are much better than the plastic ones you sometimes see. To use, roll onto the pulse points (wrists, neck, back of knees), but make sure to test on the back on the hand first.
Simply Earth Soothing Facial Essence Recipe Card

NOTE: For the final product container, I re-used a spray bottle from a previous Simply Earth box.
This was one of my favorite recipes this month! To make the hydrosol part, I used Tupperware with a lid for the hot water and oils, then filtered it through a coffee filter into another plastic container. Using a rubber band is helpful to keep the coffee filter in place!
This facial essence is DA BOMB! It has a very subtle, clean scent, and I use it before applying makeup. I let it soak into my face while drying my hair, then my makeup application is a dream! It makes my face so soft, and keeps my makeup looking fresh so much longer. I love it!!

NOTE: I used a glass dropper bottle that I got on Amazon; it was not part of Simply Earth. It works great, but you can use any container.
Castor oil is great for thickening up fine hair – which I have – and it stimulates growth. You can use it on all parts of the hair, but I put a few drops on my scalp, and then on the ends of my hair before bed, and then wash in the morning. It’s good stuff, but over-use is too much oil for me, so I’m more selective with it. I’m hoping for some growth over time! I’m turning 50 this year and I’ve noticed major thinning, so fingers crossed!!

Let me just say this: Me trying to put on a hair mask in front of the mirror was an exercise in hilarity. There was egg on the mirror, all down my shirt, on the floor, and I even got some on the dog who was curious what Mama was doing. LOL!! Other than the insane mess I made, all ended up well. As it dried, it felt kind of sticky & stiff (which stressed me a little), but then after a shower and styling, my hair looked beautiful! Soft, shiny and fuller-looking. Totally worth it!
Simply Earth DIY Shiny Pink Lip Balm Recipe Card
Recipe Project: DIY Shiny Pink Lip Balm
This was my favorite project this month! I have never made any kind of colored beauty-type product, so this was great fun. I used a double boiler to melt the beeswax, coconut and castor oil (pictured). Double boilers are cheap and I highly recommend getting one for making balms, salves and lotions.
This is the beet root powder and vegetable glycerin mixture – be careful of stains! I used a ceramic bowl and metal spoon.
It was a little difficult to get the mixture to settle in the tubes (it was thick), but tapping it on the counter worked. It just took some time/effort.
It looks pretty dark red in the tube, but it is a really nice magenta/pink color on me! It is very softening on the lips, and SUPER shiny! I made my own lip gloss! In the photo all I used was this lip balm with some lip liner I had. It’s beautiful!
Here I am post hair mask, facial essence and lip balm. Feeling pretty today! What a fun box this was – it would be really fun to do this with a group of friends. FYI, I am keeping BOTH lip balms for myself because I love it so much. Haha!
So what do you think of the March 2021 Simply Earth Essential Oils Recipe Box? I had a REALLY fun day-of-beauty! I look forward to my box each month, and I am consistently impressed by the quality and usability of this subscription at such a reasonable price. The total (current) retail value of the recipe box is $68.41, (not including the recipe cards or the labels). I think that is absolutely amazing for only $39.99! That really is a HUGE value comparatively to other essential oils out there of equal quality, and it is so handy to be able to make so many different recipes without having to buy a bunch of additional expensive ingredients.
This subscription is a great way to learn and build up an essential oil collection that isn’t so overwhelming, and the recipes are so easy & fun! IMHO you absolutely can’t go wrong if you enjoy essential oils and DIY projects.
