The December 2021 Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box! I want to note that you only get the free ‘Big Bonus Box’ with your first box, and then with every 6th box – which I have to say is a phenomenal perk! The oils are packed really nicely in sturdy cardboard pockets to decrease the chances of spillage or breakage.
Each monthly box comes with 4 essential oils + 6 recipe cards, and additional items to complete the recipes. Quite impressive for the low cost of the box! Each month there is a recipe for a roll-on, and this month’s roll-on will help you get through any challenging or stressful holiday dinners! Roll-on bottle blends are great for travel and/or keeping on your bedside table. This recipe requires items from the bonus box – fractionated coconut oil and a glass roller.
I have a very small family gathering at holidays, so I’m generally not stressed or challenged, but I do cook for an army anyway – so the energy lift is appreciated! This roller definitely smells Christmas-y with the sweet & citrus together – it’s wonderful!
These glass rollers come with steel roller balls – which are much better than the plastic ones you sometimes see. To use, roll onto the pulse points (wrists, neck, back of knees), but make sure to test on the back on the hand first.

Diffuser blend recipes are included every month, and if you are a fan, the recipe includes a master blend you can make to have on hand. The recipe card gives you the ingredient amounts you need to put directly into you diffuser, as well as for a master blend. The bonus box includes (6) 5 ml bottles so that you can make master blends each month if you choose.
I would have never have thought of these oils blending well for a holiday scent, but they do! The Vanilla is OH SO yummy smelling! This diffuser blend is popular at my house right now, and I have it going as I write this review to get me in the holiday mood.
FYI: The Vanilla Woods Blend from this box, and the Cassia Essential Oil from last month’s box are LOVELY together!

I love, LOVE making massage oils, because…more massages are given! Go figure. They also make great sock gifts. Bergamot is one of my favorite scents, and Bay (Laurel Leaf) goes well with it for a light and citrus-y fragrance. Nothing like getting a massage during this hectic season!
Simply Earth Macramé Ornament Recipe Card

You’ll need a comb or brush for this project.
What fun this was! So unique and easy to do, but I have some suggestions. Widen the hole in the bead with a small pair of sharp scissors (I stuck the nose of the scissors through the hole and slowly turned to shave the hole a little wider). Then, put tape around the part of the rope that you thread through the bead hole. You’ll save yourself some aggravation; I speak from experience. 🙂
This ornament was a lovely addition to my tree! I add new essential oil every couple of days to refresh it.

Be sure to see the tips I gave above with the ornament project – they apply here, too! I goofed on measuring and was one strand short for my tassel, but it still turned out great!
I put this one on my tree, too! Both projects are very pretty, and give my FAKE tree a great Christmas scent.
So what do you think of the December 2021 Simply Earth Essential Oils Recipe Box? My favorite project this month was the macramé ornament. It is a tradition in my household to get (or make) a new ornament for the tree every year, and this year I got 2! I look forward to my box each month, and I am consistently impressed by the quality and usability of this subscription at such a reasonable price. The total retail value this month came to $56.95 (not including the macramé mini kit or 2 bottles) – which far exceeds the cost of the box for $39.99! All of this is a HUGE value comparatively to other essential oils out there of equal quality, and it is so handy to be able to make so many different recipes without having to buy a bunch of additional expensive ingredients.
This subscription is a great way to learn and build up an essential oil collection that isn’t so overwhelming, and the recipes are so easy & fun! IMHO you absolutely can’t go wrong if you enjoy essential oils and DIY projects.
