Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box Review, January 2022
The January 2022 Simply Earth Essential Oil Recipe Box! I want to note that you only get the free ‘Big Bonus Box’ with your first box, and then with every 6th box – which I have to say is a phenomenal perk! The Big Bonus Box includes additional supplies needed to make the recipes in the subsequent boxes, and you can see my review of it here.

The oils are packed really nicely in sturdy cardboard pockets to decrease the chances of spillage or breakage.
Each monthly box comes with 4 essential oils + 6 recipe cards, and additional items to complete the recipes. Quite impressive for the low cost of the box! Simply Earth is able to cut out the middle-man and work directly with the farmers to give you a more affordable value. This month is themed “PERSONAL CARE”. A great way to start out the new year!

This is great container for DIY natural deodorant – it has a wide mouth for pouring in the product, and you just push up the bottom with your fingers to advance the product in use. It also stores well.

It is super soft, and has a little silk ribbon for ease of use. It could easily be used for more than one project!

Simply Earth ‘Winter Contentment’ Roll-On Recipe Card
Recipe Project: Winter Contentment Roll On
Each month there is a recipe for a roll-on, and this month’s roll-on will help you settle into the comforts of the Winter Season. Roll-on bottle blends are great for travel and/or keeping on your bedside table. This recipe requires items from the bonus box – fractionated coconut oil and a glass roller.
This blend has such a happy, fresh fragrance – and I’m here to confirm that Clary Sage does indeed help with hormonal struggles! I’ve entered into what they call ‘Perimenopause’, so any and all help is appreciated. 🙂
These glass rollers come with steel roller balls – which are much better than the plastic ones you sometimes see. To use, roll onto the pulse points (wrists, neck, back of knees), but make sure to test on the back on the hand first.
Simply Earth ‘New Year New Me’ Diffuser Blend Recipe Card
Recipe Project: New Year New Me Diffuser (Master) Blend
Diffuser blend recipes are included every month, and if you are a fan, the recipe includes a master blend you can make to have on hand. The recipe card gives you the ingredient amounts you need to put directly into you diffuser, as well as for a master blend. The bonus box includes (6) 5 ml bottles so that you can make master blends each month if you choose.
Using all 4 oils this month, this Master Blend is GREAT! A wonderfully complex, yet pleasant scent fills your home and feels just the right amount of festive to finish out the year.
Simply Earth ‘Joy’ Solid Perfume Recipe Card
Recipe Project: Joy Solid Perfume
You’ll need the almond oil and beeswax from the bonus box, and a small container for this project.
I used a double boiler to melt the almond oil and beeswax together (pictured). Double boilers are cheap and I highly recommend getting one for making balms, salves and lotions.
Just like this month’s roller, this cute little perfume comes in handy to not only make you smell lovely, but to keep the ‘grumpies’ away as well!
I got this cute little glass jar online, and use it for lip balms, cuticle salves, and now little solid perfumes!
Simply Earth Armpit Detox Mask Recipe Card
Recipe Project: Armpit Detox Mask
You’ll need Aloe Vera gel, and a small container for this project.
NOTE: I had some Aloe Vera Gel left over from a previous Simply Earth box, and if you like, you can get some from the Simply Earth Store here.
Super easy to mix up in a bowl; and I am storing it in a little jar for later use when I take a bath. It smells good enough to eat – but don’t do that – lol!
Simply Earth recommends using this detox mask on your armpits prior to using natural deodorant in order to ‘prime’ your body. They warn that when you make the switch to a natural deodorant, you could have a short period of adjustment where you may emit an odor while your body makes the transition. After a few days, it should work like a charm!
You can also use this mask on your face to help with acne or excess oil. Just rub on, let dry 10-20 minutes, then rinse off with warm water.
Simply Earth ‘Morning Glory’ Body Powder Recipe Card

You’ll need the almond oil from the bonus box, corn starch or arrowroot powder, and a wide-mouth container for this project.
NOTE: I already had some Arrowroot Powder in my personal stash, but you can also get some from the Simply Earth Store here.
The powder puff (and the powder itself) works great! My powder mix was a little clumpy at first because of the almond and essential oils, so I used a wooden muddler to crush into a finer dust-like powder.
Following the recipe card didn’t make enough of a powder mix to fill this jar up completely, but it was the only wide-mouth container I had available. I can always make more, though!
Simply Earth Fresh Natural Deodorant Recipe Card (Front & Back)
Recipe Project: Fresh Natural Deodorant
You’ll need the coconut oil & beeswax from the bonus box, and either corn starch or arrowroot powder for this project.
NOTE: I already had some Arrowroot Powder in my personal stash, but you can also get some from the Simply Earth Store here.
I used a double boiler to melt the coconut oil and beeswax together (pictured). Double boilers are cheap and I highly recommend getting one for making balms, salves and lotions.
Easy-peasy! After melting the coconut oil & beeswax, you mix in the dry ingredients and essential oils (getting out all the lumps), then pour immediately into the tube provided before it starts to harden. You can always re-heat if it hardens too much while mixing.
This deodorant not only smells fresh & clean (LOVE the pine scent!), but it glides onto your armpits and melts in quickly. I think I’m making the switch to natural deodorant from now on! You can always re-apply when necessary, and use the detox mask as needed as well. If you are careful with the tube, it can be re-used a few times.

So what do you think of the January 2022 Simply Earth Essential Oils Recipe Box? My favorite project this month was natural deodorant – I’m hooked! I look forward to my box each month, and I am consistently impressed by the quality and usability of this subscription at such a reasonable price. The total retail value this month came to $74.43 (not including the Body Powder Puff or Kaolin Powder) – which FAR exceeds the cost of the box for $39.99! All of this is a HUGE value comparatively to other essential oils out there of equal quality, and it is so handy to be able to make so many different recipes without having to buy a bunch of additional expensive ingredients.
This subscription is a great way to learn and build up an essential oil collection that isn’t so overwhelming, and the recipes are so easy & fun! IMHO you absolutely can’t go wrong if you enjoy essential oils and DIY projects.
